Music to Sleep (Part Two)

Previously we began to discuss the impact of different types of music and sound on our sleep. We covered classical music as well as sounds derived from nature such as crashing waves, and the calming effects they have which can assist some in falling asleep. In this second part, we will continue exploring the effects of music and sounds on our sleep and how to take the best advantage of them to calm the mind!

While classical music and natural sounds are well known to promote sleep, white noise is a more recent and popular option for this now too. White noise is a consistent sound that covers a wide range of audio frequencies, akin to TV static. It can mask background noises and create a uniform environment, reducing potential disruptions to your sleep. If you find yourself focusing on the sound of a fan, you already have an idea of what white noise is!

Binaural beats are also recently popular, where two slightly different frequencies are played in each ear. They are said to synchronize brainwaves, leading to a deeper state of relaxation or meditation.

We hope you found this second part on how music and different sounds can affect your sleep and how to take advantage of that to be interesting and helpful in ensuring you can take full advantage of your sleep and have the most productive day!
