If you asked someone to choose the most important factor for restful sleep, inevitability people will give you synonyms for comfort. Most people can't sleep as well in a hotel as they do back home. People who aren't used to living alone might have a hard time the first few nights after moving out. Those under an incredible amount of stress might experience insomnia since their mind is not at ease. Feelings of physical and mental comfort are necessary for quality z's. One way to achieve this is to play some cozy sleep sounds.
There are so many ways you can do this. There are special podcasts dedicated to this. Google Home has a feature that plays night sounds when you say "Google, goodnight". You can even get endless sounds on YouTube. There are countless selections of crickets, thunderstorms and running water. You can also choose to go the more musical route and play some lofi, classical music, or calm R&B. Whatever your preference is, there is a free option for that.
Recently, my favorite way of playing cozy sounds has been from my projector. I own a Nebula projector that I place at the foot of my bed. I turn on YouTube and find a video that displays the interior of a cozy room (cabin, library, something that usually includes a fireplace). These videos play the sounds of that room and includes fire crackling, a gentle storm outside, and the creaking of the house settling down. I love having this on my projector because the warm, flickering tones of the video gives me a sense of being in that location, far away from any stress. It creates to perfect environment for reading a book before bed and eventually settling down. I would recommend checking out these YouTube channels:
1. New Bliss
2. Calmed by Nature
3. The Relaxing Town
