Sometimes your body is so tired that sleep feels like your body shutting down. It is quite the opposite. Your body works very hard as you sleep to regulate your body. The natural processes in your body are working to keep you healthy and feeling ready for the next day. There are 4 stages to your sleep cycle:
1. The transition into sleep where any little sound can wake you up.
2. The settling into sleep where you are less sensitive to sounds, but can still wake up pretty easily. Don’t try to tell the difference as you fall asleep between these first two phases, they are very similar.
3. This is known as the deep sleep phase, where your body slows down to complete the
needed processes, your brain waves slow down and you are deep into your sleep.
4. REM Sleep, or your phase where most dreams occur, is where you cannot move but your body does allow your heart rate to increase and sometimes wake you up. When you wake up and remember your lucid dream, the Rem sleep stage is the reason why.
Our energy everyday mostly comes from our sleep, and with a missing stage of sleep your day can be tiresome.
