Traveling and Sleeping

During the holidays, traveling from family to family is tiring, especially when you can’t find a comfortable position to sleep in during the ride there. In this article, we want to give you some tips to help you get some shut eye when you are in the backseat during a long trip.

First things first, always wear a seatbelt in the car, and of course do not sleep if you are in the driver’s seat, and in some situations the passenger seat. You should always stay upright in a car for safety, which is uncomfortable for many. A detail that many forget about that can help you sleep sitting up is what you are wearing. Wear clothes that you would normally wear when you sleep and use a sleep mask to keep light out. Think of the car like an airplane ride, use a neck pillow to support your head and neck and maybe bring a blanket or pillows to be comfortable.

For some the sound of the car in the background is calming, but it can be distracting if there are other people in the car. Listening to music that helps you sleep can be helpful to calm your brain.
