Mattress Care: Deodorize

Over the years, substances like sweat, body excretions, and spills might make your bed smell less than refreshed. While getting your mattress professionally cleaned every couple of years is recommended, there are things you can do in between to help maintain the freshness of your bed. These simple techniques you can get your bed to smell like fresh linens and brand new.

1. Baking Soda

Sprinkle some baking soda on your bed and begin scrubbing with a scrub brush. Be gentle as you do not want to ruin the fibers of your mattress with a heavy hand. Let that layer of baking soda sit for 10 minutes. Then sprinkle a fresh layer and allow for that to sit for a couple hours. Vacuum the area when time is up. Baking soda neutralizes odor as well as absorb any excess liquids and moisture that is present on your mattress.

2. Use a mattress pad

This is preventative measure as any mess or odor will be absorbed by the mattress pad instead of the mattress itself. The pad is more easily cleaned to prevent odors thereby keeping your bed more refreshed.

These measures will keep foul odors in check, allowing for better sleep and rest. Looking for more mattress care tips or looking to get an upgrade? Fox Mattress has you covered.
