The History of the Mattress (Part III): The Wood Mattress Frame

wood bed frames

In the 18th century, inventors started to explore alternate fillings and even made wood frames to keep the mattress shape.

The plain cloth fabric became quality linen or cotton. The rectangle wood frame would hold the mattress together as they experimented with combinations of coconut fiber, cotton, wool or horse hair.

We fill our mattresses with some of the best quality 21st century materials available.

Stop by Fox Mattress and try them for yourself.
