Like to drink your morning coffee in bed? Have children who are still potty training? How about pets? While we try to keep our sleeping area as clean as possible, there are life often gets in the way. But that doesn't mean a mess should stay a mess. Here are various techniques to get the most common stains off your mattress:

Urine

Dab as much of the urine off as you can before using a spray. Create a mixture of three tablespoons of baking soda, one cup of hydrogen peroxide, and a few drops of liquid dish soap. Spray the mixture conservatively on the stain and dab the spot with a washcloth.

If the urine you are trying to rid yourself of is pet related, it is best to use an enzyme cleanser that you can buy at your local pet store or Amazon. Enzyme cleansers will help degrade the distinct scent of pet urine. Most will require some sitting time to take effect.

Blood

Create a mixture of 1/4 cup hydrogen peroxide, a tablespoon of liquid dish soap, and a tablespoon of salt. Spray this mixture on the stain and allow it to dry for a few minutes before dabbing the excess off. If the stain persists, repeat the process.

Vomit

Undiluted and unscented ammonia would work will with these kind of stains. Sprinkling some baking soda will also help with pulling out extra moisture. Just vacuum it up after letting it sit for several minutes.
